Life can break people
Leave them in jagged pieces on the floor
Sometimes the damage is so great
They doubt they will ever be restored
Life can break people
Damage them in ways most can’t comprehend
Leave them unable to love or trust
They doubt that that they can ever really mend
But sometimes if the will and heart are strong
The pieces they can be reassembled still
And though the jagged edges will be raw
There still a chance the broken ones can heal
