Continuum
I haven’t left my house in fifteen days.
The hours blur together like a haze.
I grab the lifeline of a clear routine.
I work and then I cook and then I clean.
My main contact with others is on zoom.
I sit in a brown recliner in a little room.
I do not see the earth or grass or sky.
As the days and hours are all flying by.
I take a break and watch the TV screen,
And visit worlds that I have never seen.
The characters become my only friends,
As days fly by and then begin again.
Caught in a continuum, the walls are closing in;
Caught in a continuum, my patience getting thin;
Caught in a continuum, is my mind starting to spin?
As days zoom by and then begin again.
