Discard

How hard it is

To just discard a life,

To throw away what

took so long to build,

A love that once

Burned hotter

than a flame,

Extinguished now

The reason

not revealed.

How sad that there

All these broken hearts,

These scars

That will not easily

Be healed.

A love that’s

Torn asunder

Causes pain,

Unbearable it

Tears ones very soul,

But a spark of hope

still remains intact

That somehow

These broken lives

can be made whole.

If forgiveness

Can replace

bitter mistrust,

And kindness

Bloom where rage

Has settled in,

Then love may

Have a chance to

To once more thrive

And a family

Can begin

To live again.
