I made a misstep,

And I found myself falling.

instead of catching myself,

I found myself stalling.

Thoughts of indecision

Pummeled my brain.

I felt trapped in time

In the falling rain.

consequences played out

Steady and in slow motion

The crash was inevitable,

Yet,still, I felt frozen.

My lack of inaction

Caused my hope’s demise

As I felt myself fall apart

Before my very eyes.

I lay abject and broken

In a pile on the ground

While the world went on

spinning round and round.
