Garage Party

The neighbor has a continuous party in his garage

Everytime I see it, I think it’s a mirage

The TV is blaring; the alcohol’s flowing.

It might be raining or even snowing

They are are packed in like sardines

Eyes glued to the big screen

While the rest of the world labors on

They party from dusk to dawn

I pass multiple cars in their drive

They’re out there at noon and out there at five

They’ve added a pool table and added more chairs

They seem like they are happy yet unaware

Of the oddity to me that they always seem

It’s like the party is some bizarre dream

But each time I pass by and ask myself why

I feel my whole world has gone awry
