Hurt

She hurts herself

So she won’t feel the pain

And drinks herself to sleep

To numb her brain

She longs to live

But cannot find her way

The stress keeps piling up

Won’t stay at bay

Life seems too much

To bear at seventeen

The voices in her head

They rant and scream

You’re not enough;

You’re ugly; they demean

She’s a tortured soul

longing for some peace

She wants her

insecurities to cease

She writes her pain

In piles of poetry

She hides away

Not letting others see

While on the outside

She tries to seems fine

on the inside

she is slowly dying

So when you see her

Try and help her cope

This world is too hard

If no one offers hope

Take some time

Listen to her voice

To be the light

Will always be a choice

So shine your light

And show her love is real

For with our help

This broken soul

Can heal

So help her find

Relief from inner strife

Offer grace and love

And save her life
