Money Exerts its might

Ownership has its way

Forget all past accolades

Focus on the here and now

The coach who won a championship

out to pasture like an aging sow

Players treated and traded as a commodity

No matter what they have achieved

Pawns of a financial chess board

Promises can’t be believed

The NBA is coming apart at the seams

Panic because viewership is down

No focus on playing the game the right way

All that matters is securing the crown.
