Only You

The scent of you still lingers on my skin-

I crave your touch it seems incessantly.

Being apart is always hard to bear-

It’s you that fills my thoughts so constantly.

Desire is a puzzle I can’t solve,

But it’s you who my heart longs for day and night.

I lose my self control and my resolve,

Abandoning my sense of wrong and right.

When we join together we combust:

It must be programmed in our DNA.

But what I feel for you is more than lust:

It’s pure in an ignoble kind of way.

The scent of you still lingers on my skin;

I breathe you in and my heart begins to race.

This love has no beginning and no end:

It’s only you that lives in my heart space.
