Rainstorm

The clouds open and the rain pours down

I walk the streets of this silent town

My back may be bent, but I’m never broken

As I contemplate the words you have spoken

You breathed life into an empty vessel

Gave purpose and made existence meaningful

Allowed me to be spiritually free

To see not one moment but eternity

Yet, the end is coming on the horizon

The rain will lead me to the setting sun

And what lies beyond I cannot see

The future shrouded in mystery

But I welcome the rain — my head held high

And I treasure each moment that passes by
