Reflections Resulting From Insomnia

Sleep evades

Causing decisions to be made

Wake up zone out in front of the TV

Or reflect on existence and craft poetry

Listen to newly released Zach Bryan CD

Or make a night of it and do all three

But work awaits and a classroom to teach

I desperately need the sleep just out of my reach

So I lay here tossing and deal with my pain

And tell Alexa to turn on the sound of rain
