Ripples

I taste the brandy on your breath

As we dance this same old dance

it’s hopeless yet I still

believe we have a chance

The oceans between us are too deep

For either of us to cross

But still we swim against the current

Afraid to admit loss

What once was such a living love

Has tarnished over time

But still in capsules of feeling like this

I remember the sublime

Thst say a love like ours endures

Seven lifetimes long

But in my heart I hear the melody

Of loves slow dying song

The ripples may still find us both

On some uncharted time and plane

Because the depth of what we feel

Fans passions undying flame
