I spend the day in solitude —

At last there’s time to think.

The busy stage of life has passed;

I am standing on the brink.

Alone with thoughts that flood my brain,

I think and read and pray.

Reflection heals the troubled soul;

Prayer gets me through each day.

Aging is a part of life.

I’m finally at the stage

Where everything is winding down:

The bottom of life’s page,

Yet, flowers bloom and birds still sing,

And Joy floods through my soul

I think my time in solitude

Has made the fractured whole.
