Sometimes I Fall

Walking through life

And a moment

of tunnel vision

An obstacle

just out of sight

Or an elevation change

I Just didn’t

see coming

And I fall

The feeling terrifies me

As I’m moving

Out of control

Free falling

Rapidly trying to adjust

No safety net in sight

Trying desperately

to land

Without inflicting

serious damage

Sometimes if I relax

I can minimize

the impact

And escape

wth a few bruises

Sometimes if

I land wrong

It could be days

Weeks

Months

Or even years

Before I fully recover

No matter how vigilant

I am though

The falls keep happening
