The Different Ones

Here’s to all the different ones.

The ones who may feel a disconnect,

Yet who wake each day and power through-

The ones society may reject.

The different ones are strong enough

To focus on the life they choose;

The different ones are brave enough

To build again if they fail or lose.

They’re the ones who dismiss flawed rules,

Who chart an undiscovered trail,

Who boldly live the life they want

And won’t let obstacles prevail.

The different ones see life as just

A time to create, and if they fall

They just get back up and resume

Without feeling lost or feeling small.

So here’s to you the different ones:

Embrace your own ideas and live,

For we are here only a short while-

Experience everything life has to give.
