The Eye of the Storm

We drove into the eye of the storm.

The thunder crashed and the rain clouds roared,

But all the time you were by my side-

My partner in crime along for the ride.

Damage occurred: we were not left unscathed,

But together we battled brave and unafraid,

Holding fast to our love, and the plans we made.

However, lightning doesn’t travel in a straight line;

Sometimes hearts just pretend they’re fine.

Forever love can always end.

Some rifts are too wide to ever mend,

So here’s hoping we can elude life’s storms,

And in each others arms find safety and warmth.
